On, in, at (como los ejemplos del decreto)
- *on* + día: *on Monday, on Friday*
- *in* + mes: *in April, in September*
- *in* + momento del día: *in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening*
- *at the weekend*
- Con la hora, *at*: *at five o'clock* (forma parte de indicar la hora)
*At night* es la excepción frecuente de la noche (no *in the night*). La mañana, la tarde y el atardecer van con *in the*.
Días y meses van en mayúscula: *Monday … Sunday*, *January … December*.
There is / there are
- *There is a match on Friday.*
- *There are two classes in the morning.*
- *There isn't a test on Sunday.*
- *Are there classes at the weekend?*
Past simple
- Regulares: *play → played, walk → walked, visit → visited.*
- *Be* en pasado: *I was, you were, she was, they were.*
- Dos irregulares de esta lección: *go → went, have → had.*
- Negación: *didn't* + verbo sin pasado: *We didn't play. We didn't go.* Nunca *didn't went*.
- Pregunta: *Did you walk in the morning?* *Yes, I did.*
- *On Monday we played basketball.*
- *In the morning I was at home.*
- *At the weekend she visited León.*
- *In April we went to Ávila.*
Already, still, yet
En 1º no hace falta *have + participio*.
- *already* = ya: *She already finished. She is already here.*
- *still* = todavía, sigue: *She is still at school. He still lives in Palencia.*
- *yet* = ¿ya? / todavía no, en pregunta o negación, suele ir al final: *Is it April yet? She isn't here yet.*
Hora y fecha
- *It's three o'clock.* En punto.
- *It's quarter past three.* Y cuarto (3:15).
- *It's half past three.* Y media (3:30).
- *It's quarter to four.* Menos cuarto (3:45).
- *past* = y (minutos pasados). *to* = menos (hacia la hora siguiente).
Fecha: *It's the twenty-fifth of September.* El ordinal (*twenty-fifth*) es el del día. *On Monday, the twenty-fifth of September.*
Mnemónico
«On el día, in el mes y la parte del día, at the weekend y at + hora.»
